DfE Project Overview
WAVE Trust and Parenting UK are collaborating to increase the expertise and support available to professionals and volunteers in the UK to deliver proven parenting and family support interventions.
Within the two year time period (2011- March 2013) of this project, funded by the Department for Education under their ‘Improving Outcomes for Children, Young People and Families’ fund, we will:
- Deliver 4 information seminars per year to ensure that the voluntary sector is aware of current best practice thinking in relation to proven interventions
- Deliver 2 webinars per year on specific topical areas
- Distribute a monthly update on proven parenting and family support interventions. These will be available on both this and the Parenting UK websites
- Respond to enquiries received from individuals and organisations
In addition, to encourage greater collaboration between specialist organisations and sharing of best practice resources, we will
- Deliver 3 topical roundtable discussions per year on key thematic issues, drawing together organisations providing specialist support to families
- Identify at least one best practice resource tool from each roundtable discussion, and disseminate it amongst participants and more widely across the parenting and family sector
