‘Research, led by the Wave Trust and others, into Adverse Childhood Experiences has found that failing to prioritise early years generates enormous problems for the future in terms of social disruption, inequality, mental and physical health problems, and cost. That’s why for example, I support the Wave Trust’s 70/30 campaign to bring about a 70 per cent reduction in child maltreatment by the year 2030. So investing in and supporting our Health Visitors will be a priority of mine in Government.’

Rt Hon Jon Ashworth MP, Labour Shadow Health Secretary

‘WAVE's visionary 70/30 strategy has my full backing. It tackles the roots of the problems in our society where so many address the symptoms.

Rt Hon Iain Duncan Smith MP, then Secretary of State for Work and Pensions

‘I share, wholeheartedly, your vision to create a world where every child is loved and cared for, and thus I welcome your 70/30 strategy … I am sure that the 70/30 strategy will build upon your previous excellent work in addressing youth violence.’

Rt Hon Michael Gove, then Secretary of State for Education

‘I fully support WAVE’s 70/30 campaign to prevent adverse childhood experiences. WAVE Trust were important contributors to the messages in our Hope for Every Child report, which captures our commitment to make Northern Ireland a trauma-informed country.’

Rt Hon Nigel Dodds OBE MP, leader of the DUP Parliamentary Party

‘I strongly believe that childhood experiences have a huge impact on a child's later life, how their character develops and on their future lives and careers. Giving a child the best possible start in life is vital but, since no one is ever trained on how be a parent and relationships do break down, some children start at a serious disadvantage from others. I am pleased to confirm my support for your aims and please keep me informed.'

Mohammad Asghar AM, for South Wales East

'I strongly endorse WAVE Trust’s 70/30 campaign to prevent adverse childhood experiences. It fits perfectly with our vision to make Scotland the best place in the world to grow up. Every single SNP MP in Westminster has endorsed this campaign.'

Rt Hon Ian Blackford MP

'I strongly endorse WAVE Trust’s 70/30 campaign to prevent adverse childhood experiences. It fits perfectly with our vision to make Scotland the best place in the world to grow up. Every single SNP MP in Westminster has endorsed this campaign.'

Sian Berry AM

'WAVE Trust’s 70/30 campaign has had a profound impact in just a few years. A shift in our politics towards preventing harm to children before it happens is well overdue. I am proud to endorse this campaign and I will continue to work with WAVE towards making this vision a reality.'

Alex Burghart MP, co-chair of APPG for Prevention of Adverse Childhood Experiences

'The 70/30 campaign has my full backing. WAVE Trust brings valuable evidence, up-to-date science and urgency to the debate. Their work is undoubtedly having an impact in Parliament and I hope they will continue to promote the case for prevention with MPs and in communities around the UK.'

Andrew Selous MP
