We are a UK-wide network of individuals, organisations and elected representatives working together to reduce child abuse, neglect and other adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) by at least 70% by the year 2030. We call this goal the 70/30 Campaign.
This ambitious, but feasible goal is necessary because at least half of children in the UK will suffer ACEs during their childhood.
The 70/30 Campaign was created after we received support from our partners and expert advisers who agreed that a 70% reduction is achievable if the right policies and actions are taken by decision-makers and those holding the purse strings. Join today so we can make this vision a reality.

Over 500 MPs, mayors, local councillors and other elected officers have endorsed the 70/30 Initiative.
Supporters come from across the UK, many working with 70/30 campaigners and partners to implement lasting change at both local and national level. Alongside countless councillors, councils, mayors and others, here is a breakdown of our current political endorsements.
"I, like you, believe that all our children and young people should get the best possible start in life and I applaud the work of the Wave Trust to raise awareness of the impact adverse childhood experiences can have."
"In my work as Cabinet Secretary for Education and Skills, I have attached the greatest priority to raising awareness of Adverse Childhood Experiences and ensuring our public services are focused on tackling them. As a Minister, I do not normally indicate my support for particular campaigns but given the significance of this issue, on this occasion I am happy to do so."
"I have long been a supporter of the argument for putting prevention first. WAVE Trust have been leaders in promoting prevention for the past decade. Their 70/30 strategy to prevent child abuse and neglect before they happen has my full backing, and will deliver significant social, health and economic benefits to the country."
"I share, wholeheartedly, your vision to create a world where every child is loved and cared for, and thus I welcome your 70/30 strategy."
Rt Hon Michael Gove MP, Minister for the Cabinet Office, Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster and, at the time of this quote, former Secretary of State for Education
"We must never lose sight of the damage abuse and neglect has on children, both at the time of the experience and into their future. I support the Wave Trust’s 70/30 campaign to reduce the amount of children who suffer abuse and neglect by 70% by 2030 and to take a public health approach to tackling abuse."
The Rt. Hon Harriet Harman QC, MP for Peckham, Mother of the House, Former Leader of the Opposition, Former Leader of the House, Former Chairperson of the Labour Party, Former Deputy Prime Minister
“I welcome the work the Wave Trust are doing to help bring about a 70% reduction in child abuse and neglect by the year 2030. We know that adverse childhood experiences can have a major impact on the mental and physical health of children and young people. It is vital that we all work together to reduce adverse childhood experiences.”
Lynne Neagle AM, Chair of the Welsh Assembly's Children, Young People and Education committee
“I add my support to the 70/30 campaign. Preventing ACEs means attacking the issue from all sides. This is not just a health issue and it is not just an education issue. It is about health, education, social work, justice, welfare and many other elements all working together to challenge the myriad issues that children face.”
Mairi Gougeon MSP, Minister of State for Rural Affairs and the Natural Environment
“I am aware of ACE’s and the important of trying to reduce adverse incidence, a number of which can reduce a child’s future prospects. I support any campaign to reduce Adverse Childhood Experiences and improve a child’s prospects and would indicate my support for your objectives.”
Roy Beggs MLA (Ulster Unionist Party, East Antrim)
”I do not view 70/30 as either wishful thinking or an unachievable goal. On the contrary, reducing child maltreatment by 70% in the next fifteen years is the minimum acceptable outcome in responding to this unacceptable (and profoundly costly) harm to our youngest children.”
Professor Sir Harry Burns, former Chief Medical Officer of Scotland
