The 70/30 NetworkWe are a UK-wide network of individuals, organisations and elected representatives working together to reduce child abuse, neglect and other adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) by at least 70% by the year 2030. We call this goal '70/30'. Our radical but achievable goal is necessary because 1 in 5 children will suffer ACEs during their lifetime. The 70/30 goal was created after we received support from our partners and expert advisers who agreed that 70/30 is achievable if the right policies and actions are taken by decision makers and those holding the purse strings. We have developed specific action plans to achieve 70/30. All the work I do is vital and essential but too much of it is reactive, we are waiting for accidents to happen – it can be like watching a car crash. I no longer only want to be involved in picking up the pieces. I want to work hard promoting the idea that so much of what children are suffering is preventable. I joined the 70/30 Ambassador Network at the end of the summer and look forward to really working hard to establish a group in Walthamstow where I both live and work.'
