The 70/30 NetworkWe are a UK-wide network of individuals, organisations and elected representatives working together to reduce child abuse, neglect and other adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) by at least 70% by the year 2030. We call this goal '70/30'. Our radical but achievable goal is necessary because 1 in 5 children will suffer ACEs during their lifetime. The 70/30 goal was created after we received support from our partners and expert advisers who agreed that 70/30 is achievable if the right policies and actions are taken by decision makers and those holding the purse strings. We have developed specific action plans to achieve 70/30. I worked as a GP and saw so much heartache because of poor attachment with parents that struggled with parenting, mainly because they had never known what it was to be loved by their parents. If there is anything we can do to break such inter-generational transfer of suffering we should prioritise it. And this is why I want to be an ambassador for the WAVE trust.'
