    National Council of Lived Experience

Our National Council of Lived Experience brings together those who have experienced early life trauma so that their experience can influence policy and practice.

    The Council's mission

To be the authentic voice of Trauma throughout the UK and thus provide an opportunity for Members and associates to share their experiences.  To inform and advise WAVE Trust and its partners in relation to 70/30 strategy and actions.

    The Council's Aims

    • Be the independent voice of trauma across the UK

    • Be the source of energy driving a national commitment to prevent child abuse, neglect and other ACEs from occurring, before they first take place

    • Support the WAVE 70/30 campaign

    • Build networks and relationships which are able to influence policy changes using the collective lived experience of the Council.

    • Call on all relevant government officials, agencies, partnerships and local organisations to start a national conversation around Trauma based lived experience where no one will get left behind.

    • Work alongside all governing sectors ensuring as many as possible can be positively impacted by hearing the voice of Lived Experience.

    The Council’s Purpose

Create the united voice of lived experience where survivors of abuse and neglect become powerful change makers in society coming together to tackle the negative impacts of childhood adversity and working to create a culture focused on prevention and healing of ACEs.
