Would you like to bring about change within your local community and/or Parliament? If you think this is you, please fill out an application (here) and someone from the WAVE Trust team will get in touch.

WAVE Trust are delighted to announce that all 117 Members of Parliament who represent constituencies in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales have now endorsed our 70/30 Campaign to reduce child maltreatment by 70% by 2030.

This latest achievement comes shortly after the recent confirmations that the aims and objectives of 70/30 have been formally adopted by the Alliance Party of Northern Ireland, Scottish Labour, the Welsh Conservatives and Plaid Cymru.

'Delivering meaningful change'

"I am absolutely delighted that 70/30 now enjoys the support of all the Northern Irish, Welsh and Scottish MPs", said 70/30 Campaign Officer Alex Williamson. "This gives us a very strong foothold by which to deliver meaningful change within these communities.  It is also my goal that, over the next year, we can replicate such success within England."

Jay Haston, 70/30 Campaign lead ambassador for Scotland, said: "This is fantastic news and can only benefit Scotland and the rest of the UK, especially since we now have two Scottish local authorities in Edinburgh and West Dunbartonshire which are committed to working with WAVE to deliver Trauma-informed practice.

"I am also particularly delighted that the Scottish Government has agreed that Adverse Childhood Experiences need tackling if Scotland is going to be a county that gives every child the best start in life."

Claire Andrews, 70/30 Campaign lead ambassador for Wales, said: "I have every faith that this year is going to a big year and will bring many positive outcomes.

"I would also like to say how proud I am of everyone involved with the 70/30 Campaign and the wonderful work they are doing, and I would love nothing more than to make this a global phenomenon and make great changes for the future generations of all of children.

"I look forward to what the future holds and I am very proud to hold the flag for Wales on this wonderful initiative."
