WAVE Trust would like to publicly thank our Sheffield based ambassador team of Heather Turner and Gareth Davies for recently raising £497 by completing the Colour Rush 5k Obstacle Run on June 3rd.

The Colour Rush run itself is described as a 'unique event which combines the fun of colour powers runs, the thrill of an obstacle course and the atmosphere of a musical festival'.

Speaking after the Event, Heather said: "Myself and Gareth became Ambassadors for WAVE and 70/30 last year following much research into trauma and ACEs in children and given our personal experience with our youngest.

"We wanted to raise awareness about the work of WAVE and 70/30 and general awareness about the impact that ACES and trauma can have on children and adults in education, relationships, workplace etc.

"We wanted, as Ambassadors, to not only to spread the word but to raise awareness through fundraising as a family, including the children, and raise awareness though their schools too. So we took on the the Colour Rush 5k Obstacle Run. It was great fun, we got a great response, and have raised much needed funds."

Alex Williamson, Public Affairs Officer and Ambassador Co-ordinator at WAVE Trust, said: "We are immensely grateful to Heather, Gareth and their family for taking part in this event and, in addition to raising a significant sum of money, raising awareness of WAVE's work. I wholeheartedly applaud their efforts."
