Prime Minister Liz Truss MP promotes early years action during first PMQs Friday, September 9, 2022 WAVE were delighted to see that, during her first session of Prime Ministers Question (PMQs) time on Wednesday 7th September, Prime Minister Liz Truss MP publicly reaffirmed her support for the importance of early years intervention. Following a question from Andrea Leadsom MP, Liz Truss said: "…I am committed to following through on delivering for children, because we know that intervening early and helping children early is the best way to help those children to have a successful childhood and, ultimately, a fulfilled life." Ms Truss has long been a supporter of this approach, having wrote the introduction to our 2013 report ‘Conception to age 2 - the age of opportunity’ (see here). We are eager to see what further developments are on the horizon for this vital sector. Join the mission Would you like to play a part in reducing child maltreatment across the United Kingdom?
