Newly elected Member of the London Assembly supports WAVE Trust's 70/30 campaign Tuesday, May 25, 2021 It is great news that Emma Best, newly elected Member of the Greater London Assembly, has spoken out in support of WAVE's 70/30 campaign and our ambition to reduce child abuse, neglect and other adverse childhood experiences by 70% by 2030. Speaking today, Emma said: "I fully support WAVE’s 70/30 campaign which recognises the need to focus on trauma-informed early intervention and prevention to help the next generation thrive. The 70/30 campaign priorities set out a future where we proactively stop ACEs occurring instead of waiting to treat the problematic symptoms they can cause later in life." Emma Best was elected as a London-wide Assembly Member in May 2021. She joins a very large, cross-party, UK-wide group of politicians committed to delivering 70/30. Born and raised in Waltham Forest, Emma has lived in North-East London her entire life. Before the Assembly, Emma worked in children's services, helping some of London’s most vulnerable children and young people access services and support.
